There's nothing square about the dance parties at Grace Lutheran Church
On the second and third Saturday of the month, contradancers flock to at 13001 Cedar Road to twist, turn and swing a partner. Contradance descended from 17th-century English country dances, but there's nothing quaint about the action at the church. The lines and formations are as lively as the music provided by local string bands. By the end of the evening, everyone has worked up a good sweat.
Beginners would do well to start with the third Saturday dance, where an experienced dancer teaches the basics. Folks in the know take the floor on the second Saturday of each month, but novices are welcome there as well.
