University School students shadow health care professionals at MetroHealth Medical Center

A group of seventh- and eight-grade students from the University School took classes on a different campus Wednesday: MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. The students, who aspire to be doctors, observed a simulation exercise in the hospital's trauma bay, toured the emergency department and sat in on an ultrasound workshop.

The trip was part of the Young Surgeon's Course, a 10-week afterschool program for students interested in medicine, anatomy and science.

The group included students from Cleveland Heights, Highland Heights and Solon.
