Why Was There Blood Near The Lee Road Library?
Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg put minds to ease when she addressed that question on Monday.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — After residents discovered a splatter of blood on a sidewalk outside the Lee Road Library, the rumor mill swirled into action. Many wondered if something criminal had taken place outside the building. Luckily, nothing so nefarious took place.
Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg took to NextDoor to address the speculation on Monday. She assured residents that nothing criminal had taken place.
"Sometime during the early morning hours on Saturday, a deer was struck by a vehicle and the deer died. However, as a result of the deer getting struck by a vehicle, there was quite a lot of blood left behind. There was no other criminal activity afoot in this area, as some have speculated from what I am being told," she said in a post.
