Indictment follows ABC6 investigation into delayed Columbus police response (abc6onyourside.com) — A Columbus man has been indicted on burglary and gross sexual imposition charges after an incident at a Clintonville apartment complex where a mother says she waited nearly two hours for police to arrive. Columbus Public Safety officials admit officers were available but not dispatched promptly and say the city is investigating why the Priority 2 emergency call was delayed.
2. Parts of Olentangy Trail to Close for Repairs (columbusunderground.com) — If you bike or walk the Olentangy Trail in Columbus, expect multiple short closures between October 8–31 and again next spring near OSU wetlands, Tuttle Park, Third to Goodale, and Antrim Park. The city, using federal funds, will repair aging pavement and improve visibility, but won't post signed detours, so plan extra time and alternate routes now.
3. How much daylight Columbus will lose in October (nbc4i.com) — Columbus residents can expect to lose about 75 minutes of daylight during October, with sunsets slipping before 7 p.m. by Oct. 10 and total daylight dropping below 11 hours by Oct. 19. The study, presented at a national pediatrics conference, highlights common early symptoms like abdominal pain, bowel changes, weight loss, and rectal bleeding, underscoring why Columbus families should take persistent gastrointestinal issues in teens seriously.
