2. Parts of Olentangy Trail to Close for Repairs (columbusunderground.com) — If you bike or walk the Olentangy Trail in Columbus, expect multiple short closures between October 8–31 and again next spring near OSU wetlands, Tuttle Park, Third to Goodale, and Antrim Park. The city, using federal funds, will repair aging pavement and improve visibility, but won't post signed detours, so plan extra time and alternate routes now.

AAP: Adolescents With Colorectal Cancer Commonly Present With Advanced Disease (drugs.com) — Researchers at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus found that most adolescents diagnosed with colorectal cancer between 2012 and 2023 already had advanced-stage disease, and many later relapsed. The study, presented at a national pediatrics conference, highlights common early symptoms like abdominal pain, bowel changes, weight loss, and rectal bleeding, underscoring why Columbus families should take persistent gastrointestinal issues in teens seriously.
