Experts urge you to ignore links in emails or texts, access MyChart only through official apps or provider sites, and report suspicious messages or charges immediately to protect your medical and billing information.
   

3. Ohio State nurses push to keep employee incentive program (nbc4i.com) — Nurses at Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center in Columbus are urging hospital leaders to keep a long-running incentive pay program that helps fill extra shifts, warning its September 30 expiration could worsen staffing gaps and slow patient care. 4. Man found not guilty in local teen's death charged with murder in Columbus area shooting (wkbn.com) — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the July shooting death of 21-year-old Maliek Venson in a South Linden alley in northeast Columbus. Police say security video and an alleged altercation preceded the fatal gunshot, and the suspect, previously acquitted in another teen's death, is now being held on a $1.5 million bond.
   

5. Answering the Call: Ohioans Stepping Up in Response to Alarming Volunteer Firefighter Decline (ohio.gov) — Columbus is the hub for a new statewide push to reverse Ohio's shrinking volunteer firefighter ranks, with a state-run online portal already drawing thousands of inquiries. Local residents can quickly connect with nearby departments to explore frontline or support roles, as officials warn that declining volunteer numbers and rising emergency calls are straining fire protection across Ohio communities.
