Act-It UP! Community Theater Audition Announcement

About the Story:
A father tells his young daughter the story of Ebenezer Scrooge sharing his terrifying and exhilarating journey to discover the true meaning of Christmas. It’s a story within a story that takes place after Scrooge has passed on, but the time period is still in the fun costuming era of the 1840’s. If you love the traditional story of “A Christmas Carol”, you’ll love this adaptation! Fair warning: There will be singing involved because the script is “infused with popular Christmas carols and is sure to make your audience feel alive with holiday spirit”.

Important Information:

• Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script, group work, and a capella singing of traditional Christmas Carols.

• Cast notifications and announcement will be made on Monday, October 6th and the Read-Through Orientation rehearsal is Thursday, October 9th.
• Bring your calendar with you to auditions so that any potential conflicts may be noted.
• We are seeking a cast of approximately 37, ages 9 through Adult. Some roles are subject to doubling. Actors of all experience levels are welcome!
• Rehearsals will begin in October on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
