Viewfinder: Opening Day at Szalay's Farm Market
Corn isn't local yet, but it feels like summer in the valley.
Rain early in the day might have scared off customers and, yes, the local corn has barely been planted, but Szalay's Farm Market on Friday kicked off another season of its open-air market with fresh produce, soft-serve ice cream, hot dogs and roasted corn and lots of other farm products.
Business picked up as the day grew longer, with after-school and after-work crowds filtering in.
