Think Dayton building nears completion of Phase One (wdtn.com) — A major new five-story Think Dayton building is rising at Main and Stewart streets, set to anchor the onMain innovation district and host public, government, industry, and academic partners. Leaders say the hub will boost Dayton's economy, attract outside talent, and give local students hands-on learning spaces, including lounges, green areas, and even a podcast booth, ahead of its expected 2027 completion.
   

2. Summer Crisis Program nearing end, Miami Valley residents have until Sept. 30 to apply (dayton247now.com) — Dayton-area households struggling with electric bills or cooling costs still have until Sept. 30 to apply for one-time help through the Miami Valley Community Action Partnership's Summer Crisis Program. Eligible residents in Montgomery and nearby counties can get hundreds toward utility bills, up to $1,500 for central air repairs, or even an air conditioner or fan, but all documents must be in by 4 p.m. on deadline day.
   

3. Technology First takes its trusted community statewide (ohiotechnews.com) — Technology First, founded in Dayton in 1997, is expanding its trusted peer groups, conferences, and AI-focused programming from a strong Dayton base to serve tech leaders across Ohio. With events like the sold-out Dayton AI Day evolving into the Ohio AI Conference, local professionals gain more chances to connect, share solutions, and shape the state's technology community.
   

4. Boonshoft announces death of Walnut the hedgehog (whio.com) — Dayton's Boonshoft Museum is mourning Walnut, the African four-toed hedgehog who charmed thousands of Miami Valley visitors as an educational ambassador and Hedgehog Day star. Staff, especially her primary keeper Sophia, are remembering Walnut's sassy personality, favorite treats, and the patience she inspired in everyone who worked with her.
   

5. Great Lakes gas prices will rise with Ohio at highest risk (whio.com) — Drivers in and around Dayton should brace for higher gas and diesel prices, with Ohio flagged as the Great Lakes state most at risk for a spike. A Dayton BP station is already charging over $4 for regular and nearly $7 for diesel, and analysts warn international conflicts could push costs even higher before any relief arrives.
