• Over 50,00 homeowners face power outage (dayton247now.com) — Thousands of AES Ohio customers in Dayton, including residents along Newton Avenue, have endured days without power after holiday weekend storms knocked down trees and lines. Crews have restored most service, but some Montgomery County homes are still waiting, worrying about heat, spoiled food, and when electricity will finally return.
   

• Man thankful not to be hurt after bullets hit his car in Dayton shooting (whio.com) — A man picking up food at the North Main Drive-Thru in Dayton narrowly avoided injury when gunfire erupted nearby and bullets struck his car. Dayton police and Montgomery County deputies later found a 30-year-old shooting victim on Maplelawn Drive, and detectives from the Violent Offender Unit are continuing to investigate.
