Today's riddle: What has to be broken before you can use it? 🤔 (Answer below!)
• Dublin ends its ‘robo cop' pilot program (nbc4i.com) — Dublin has ended its yearlong pilot of the DubBot security robot, deciding the autonomous patrol device didn’t meet the city’s needs after technical issues and no tickets or arrests. The robot had monitored the Rock Cress parking garage, and a second unit once planned for Riverside Crossing Park and the Dublin Link bridge was never deployed. City officials say they remain committed to exploring technology that genuinely improves safety and services.

• Case of dismembered legs found in Columbus trash facility in 2017 still unsolved (dispatch.com) — Dublin is one of several communities whose trash routes are linked to a still-unsolved 2017 case where human legs were found at a Columbus waste facility. Investigators later identified the victim as Columbus resident Candice Taylor, but nearly a decade on, police still have no suspects. Crime Stoppers is again asking for tips and offering a cash reward.

• USGA alters golf ball rollback plan, earns surprise PGA Tour endorsement (golf.com) — Dublin briefly took center stage in golf’s distance debate when USGA CEO Mike Whan met with a 16-player advisory group at the Memorial Tournament here, helping spur a new joint plan on golf ball rollback. The USGA, R&A, PGA Tour and DP World Tour now back a single January 2030 implementation date and are exploring broader equipment changes. The final impact on the pro game remains unsettled.
