1. Lane closures set for I-90 this week in Lorain County (cleveland.com) — Drivers in Elyria should prepare for evening and overnight eastbound lane closures on I-90 this week between Ohio 611 in Avon and the Turnpike entrance west of Elyria. ODOT says the work, part of a major widening project through 2028, also limits Turnpike access for some westbound on-ramps, requiring certain motorists to use Ohio 57 instead.
   

2. Community Peace Summit at LCCC highlights human impact, need for local action (chroniclet.com) — Elyria’s YWCA partnered with Rotary District 6600 to host a Community Peace Summit at LCCC, drawing nonprofits and local leaders to connect global humanitarian issues with local action. Speakers stressed the human impact of funding cuts, immigration policies, and overlooked crises, while highlighting new collaborations, including a peace and justice group at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Elyria.
   

3. Wellington athletes help Good Knights build beds for children in need (chroniclet.com) — Beds built at Wellington Town Hall will soon head to Good Knights’ Elyria facility on Leona Road, where they’ll be finished and delivered to Lorain County children and veterans in need. The nonprofit, which has already provided nearly 7,000 beds, relies on countywide volunteers and partners, including the Lorain County Veterans Service Commission, to reach families quickly.
   

4. Warriors on Wheels car show brings veterans, community together (chroniclet.com) — Veterans and car lovers packed Lorain County Community College for the Warriors on Wheels car show, where the county Veterans Service Commission shared benefits and support options. The commission now plans more outreach with the Revs 22 race in downtown Elyria on Nov. 14, focused on preventing veteran suicide and connecting local veterans with critical services.
