Amazon employee dies at Northeast Ohio fulfillment center (fox19.com) — An Amazon employee died Sunday after a medical emergency at the company’s fulfillment center on Babbitt Road in Euclid, despite aid from Euclid first responders and transport to Euclid Hospital. Police say the worker had reported feeling unwell before collapsing, and Amazon has sent employees home with pay and offered onsite counseling support. 
2. Estate of slain Euclid Officer Jacob Derbin sues city, chief, officers, dispatch officials (cleveland19.com) — Euclid residents should know that the estate of slain Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin has filed a lawsuit against the city, the police chief, several officers, and Chagrin Valley Dispatch over his 2024 on-duty killing. The suit alleges failures in training and call handling, while Derbin’s mother says she is seeking accountability, transparency, and safety reforms.
3. Euclid Animal Control officials seeking help for rescued dog (fox8.com) — Euclid Animal Control is asking residents to help cover medical costs for Xenia, a severely neglected dog now hospitalized with suspected parvo after initially improving at the Euclid Animal Shelter. Officials also warn that parvo can strike stressed, unvaccinated adult shelter dogs even after negative tests, and explain how easily the virus can spread despite sanitation efforts.
4. Trash ticket turns into treasure as Ohio man cashes in $50K lottery win (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A Euclid resident turned a discarded Pick 5 ticket’s numbers into a $50,000 win after replaying them weeks later at an Ohio Lottery retailer. The man, who rarely plays, hit the exact 7-3-4-2-1 combination on April 28, beating 1-in-100,000 odds and pocketing the straight-bet prize.

Ohio's Blue Alert system helps protect officers in danger (cleveland19.com) — Euclid residents are reminded that Ohio’s Blue Alert system can rapidly mobilize the public when an officer, like Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin, is shot or in danger. The story explains when Blue Alerts are issued, how you can opt in to receive them on your phone or email, and why officials say community vigilance is critical.
