• Bistro 81 reopens for the 2026-27 school year at Copley High School (akron.com) — Students from Copley-Fairlawn City Schools are again running Bistro 81 at Copley High School, offering a student-designed menu for dine-in and carryout on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Fairlawn families can support local teens gaining real-world culinary and hospitality experience through the Four Cities Compact, which also connects students to other career and technical programs and industry partners.
   

• Summit Emergency Communications Center named Ohio Dispatch Center of Year (akron.com) — Fairlawn residents rely on the Summit Emergency Communications Center, which was just named Ohio's 2025 Gold Star Dispatch Center of the Year for its work serving local communities. The regional center handles 911 dispatch for Fairlawn and several neighboring cities, sharing technology and expertise to support first responders and public safety across Summit County.
