• Division of Wildlife working to reestablish native sauger population (thebeacon.net) — State wildlife crews just stocked 65,000 young sauger in the Sandusky River at Fremont’s Darr-Root Fishing Access, kicking off a decade-long effort to restore this once-popular sport fish. With the Ballville Dam removed and water quality improved, officials hope sauger will form a self-sustaining population that offers year-round fishing opportunities for local anglers by 2028.
   

• Toledo man dead after crashing into row of trees (portclintonnewsherald.com) — A Toledo man died after his pickup left State Route 590 in Jackson Township, crossed a farm field, and hit a row of trees before anyone noticed the crash. Sandusky County EMS took him to Fremont ProMedica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and investigators are awaiting a coroner’s report to learn if a medical emergency played a role.
   

• Teen pulled down transgender woman's skirt at amusement park: police (pennlive.com) — An 18-year-old man was arrested after police say he pulled down a transgender woman’s skirt and underwear at Cedar Point, then fled before being caught and charged with several offenses. A Fremont City Schools official confirmed he still attended his high school graduation days later. His arraignment is scheduled for June 3 in Sandusky Municipal Court.
