• Girard OKs shared services deal with Liberty for bus mechanic (tribtoday.com) — Girard City Schools has approved a first-ever shared services deal with Liberty to split the cost of a chief bus mechanic and driver, saving Girard an estimated $10,000 to $20,000. The board is also grappling with recent teacher position cuts and a pay-freeze extension from Superintendent Bryan O’Hara to help stabilize district finances through 2029. 
• Virginia Tech football: A great day for the Hokies (gobblercountry.com) — A standout offensive tackle from Girard High School in Ohio, Dylan Latell, has committed to play football at Virginia Tech, choosing the Hokies over several major programs.
