• Girard students ‘make waves' at summer enrichment camp (tribtoday.com) — Girard City Schools is hosting a four-day, scholarship-funded STEM enrichment camp at Prospect Elementary, giving 70 local students hands-on projects like surfboard design and rocket launches. Led by district staff and college interns, the “Make Waves” program helps Girard kids stay engaged in science, math, and problem-solving during summer break without any cost to families.
   

• Girard enacts one-year ban on data centers (tribtoday.com) — Girard City Council has enacted a one-year moratorium on new data center permits and extended its ban on additional small box discount stores to study their impacts and update zoning. Residents also pressed officials to tackle long-vacant, blighted houses on Morris and Girard avenues, with the administration pledging further action.
