2. Spirit EMS CEO receives inaugural award (sidneydailynews.com) — Greenville-based Spirit EMS president and CEO Brian K. Hathaway has been honored with the Ohio Ambulance & Medical Transportation Association’s first-ever Spotlight Award for his decades of service. His long career includes dispatching for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, serving with Union City Fire Department, co-founding Spirit EMS, and expanding local EMS education and community safety programs.

3. Darke County Rollover Crash Investigation (mercercountyoutlook.net) — A 19-year-old Greenville woman was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Friday on North Star Fort Loramie Road near Rismiller Road in Darke County. She and her Versailles passenger were treated at the scene and declined further care, while deputies continue investigating, with alcohol believed to be a factor.

Greenville varsity girls tennis have three players move on to district tournament (dailyadvocate.com) — Greenville High School’s girls tennis team is sending three standout players to the district tournament after strong sectional performances in Troy. Senior Riley Capasso advanced in singles, while senior Meadow Murphy and sophomore Callie Zwiesler powered through the doubles bracket to earn their spots at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason next week.

5. Martin pleads guilty and sentenced to jail time (dailyadvocate.com) — A Darke County Common Pleas Court case in Greenville ended with Ricky James Martin pleading guilty to multiple assault-related charges and receiving several short jail terms plus nine months for attempted assault on a peace officer. With credit for 36 days already served and possible judicial release, he will also face up to two years of post-release supervision after prison.
