• Driver sentenced to 9 years in crash that killed 3, including 10-year-old, in Hamilton (meigsindypress.com) — A Fairfield Township man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a high-speed head-on crash in Hamilton that killed three members of one family, including a 10-year-old child. The December collision on River Road near Hooven Avenue followed what investigators believe was a road rage incident, and the driver’s license has been permanently revoked. 
• Area bomb squad recovers black powder pellets created in 1960s (whio.com) — The Butler County Bomb Squad was called to a Hamilton home after relatives cleaning out an estate found two boxes of vintage black powder pellets dating back to 1963. Specialists safely removed and disposed of the artillery-related explosives and are urging Hamilton residents to call law enforcement if they ever discover old ordnance or suspicious materials while sorting belongings.
