2. Commissioners updated on disaster declarations related to recent storms (highlandcountypress.com) — Hillsboro residents could soon see FEMA set up in town for a week if a federal disaster declaration follows recent storms, opening more assistance for local flood and wind damage. County commissioners also reviewed new funding for storm-impacted families, ARPA-backed projects, courthouse and Justice Center work, and several budget moves that shape services and infrastructure across Highland County.
   

3. HCSO investigating theft, trespassing along S.R. 124 (highlandcountypress.com) — Highland County deputies are looking for a suspect after surveillance video captured a man taking items from an outbuilding along State Route 124, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Residents in and around Hillsboro are urged to contact the Highland County Sheriff’s Office with any information, and are reminded that the suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
   

4. EPA awards Hillsboro grant (timesgazette.com) — Hillsboro residents get a nostalgic look back at local life, from a 1928 Business Men’s Association dinner at the Masonic Temple to the 1988 EPA grant that funded a new wastewater treatment plant.
