ā¢ Electrifying makeover will keep Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad chugging into future (beaconjournal.com) ā Independence residents will see the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad modernize right in their backyard, as two locomotives at the Fitzwater Maintenance Facility are being converted from diesel to battery power. Backed by major Ohio EPA grant funding, the project aims to cut emissions, lower maintenance costs, and keep trains reliably running through Cuyahoga Valley National Park for years to come.
