• JC child care center coming soon; YMCA works with local organizations on project (sidneydailynews.com) — Families in Jackson Center will soon have a new child care option, as the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA and local partners prepare to open Roots Child Development Center on West Pike Street. Serving infants through age 12 with extended hours, the center will open once renovations and staffing are complete, and interested parents can already join a wait list through the YMCA.
   

• Sidney firefighter, Mike Utz retires (sidneydailynews.com) — A longtime Sidney firefighter, Mike Utz of Wapakoneta, has retired after a decorated career that began in 2002 and included multiple commendations and a firefighter of the year award. Jackson Center is represented at the ceremony through attendee Lucas Woodard, highlighting local connections to Sidney’s fire service community.
