If you put vinegar in your car, would it still run? Would you blame it for being “broken” “impaired” or “sensitive” if it didn’t leave the driveway?
So why did I do this with my body?
I had to start thinking about my body as a machine, find its perfect fuel, and do some regular check-ins. Through experimentation and an elimination diet, what I did find was: gluten, sugar, stress, and improperly prepared grains/beans were NOT my fuel.
I could no longer use the excuse of my body being faulty. It was time to take responsibility, trust that I can run efficiently and explore which fuels work for my specialized structure.
Empowerment for a “Broken” Digestion
- Take out common allergens, read HERE for more information. Maybe a certain food is not your fuel.
- Properly prepare your grains and beans through soaking and slow cooking
- Sit down, relax, and chew- let your body focus on digestion and properly do its job
Empowerment for “Impaired” Energy
- Check out your meal ratios- 30% Fat, 30% Protein, 40% Carbohydrates is a good starting point. Most people consume an abundance of Carbohydrates and not enough Fat or Protein
- Keep a regular schedule. Going to bed and waking up at similar times each day will keep your body feeling steady
