• August 29, 1933 – November 26, 2025 (thebeacon.net) — Lakeside residents are invited to honor longtime community member and music educator Donald Philip Eckert at his funeral on June 22 at Lakeside United Methodist Church, with visitation an hour before the service. The 92-year-old Lakeside resident was deeply involved in local church life, music, and Lake Erie fishing, and helped care for instruments used at Hoover Auditorium and throughout the community.
