The data highlight strengths in achievement and gap closing, but also ongoing concerns about growth and chronic absenteeism, giving parents and residents concrete numbers to compare with statewide averages.
3. Harvest Fest Returns To Lakewood After Seven-Year Hiatus (lakewoodobserver.com) — Harvest Fest is coming back to Lakewood on Thursday, Sept. 24, bringing music, kids' activities, free ice cream, and dozens of local food and craft vendors to the front porch of Lakewood's Main Library. 4. Lakewood Alive Fall/Winter Events: Your Fall Rom-Com Starts Here (lakewoodobserver.com) — Your fall and early winter in Lakewood are filling up fast, with LakewoodAlive's Spooky Pooch Parade at Madison Park on October 10, the Chocolate Walk downtown on October 22, and Light Up Lakewood on December 5. These events spotlight local businesses, walkable streets, and community fun, giving Lakewood residents plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the neighborhood together.
5. Ohio bill would require electric companies to reimburse customers for power outage losses (news5cleveland.com) — Lakewood residents frustrated by repeated power outages could soon get automatic bill credits and reimbursement for spoiled food and medicine under a new state bill from local Rep. Tristan Rader. The proposal would force utilities like FirstEnergy to compensate customers after long or frequent outages, while barring companies from passing those costs back onto ratepayers through higher bills.
