Today's riddle: What do you call cows dancing in the dark 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. Bring on the Butter: Lakewood's new sourdough bakery on Detroit Ave. (cleveland.com) — A new sourdough-focused bakery, Bring on the Butter, is now open at 13429 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, offering prepackaged breads and sweets while a full commercial kitchen is built out. Owner Dia Dunay, who started with a front-yard bread stand, bakes from home under Ohio cottage-food laws and plans to expand offerings once on-site baking begins. Current hours run Tuesday through Saturday with rotating specialty items.
2. Wilhelmy, Stoll, Gatling And Verderber Lead Lakewood Over Buckeye (lakewoodobserver.com) — Lakewood Rangers fans just saw history as the football team earned its first-ever win over conference power Buckeye, 28–21, behind a standout performance from quarterback Otto Wilhelmy and key plays from several teammates. The game ended with a clock-killing drive at Bunts and Madison, and attention now turns to the upcoming homecoming matchup against Westlake in Lakewood.
3. Pain of Truth announce 2027 European and UK tour (nextmosh.com) — Lakewood hardcore fans can catch Pain of Truth with 100 Demons and Shattered Realm at the Roxy at Mahall's on October 18, part of the band's packed fall tour. The Long Island group is supporting a new self-titled album due out September 25, with extensive North American dates before they head to Europe and the UK in early 2027.
4. FirstEnergy favors grid upgrades over replacing 34.5 miles of underground cable (undergroundinfrastructure.com) — Electric customers in and around Lakewood could see changes as FirstEnergy proposes targeted upgrades to underground circuits instead of replacing 34.5 miles of aging lead-jacketed cable. State regulators are pushing for broader inspections and a long-term replacement plan after several summer outages, including a July 3 fault that left over 1,000 Lakewood-area customers without power for about 20 hours.
