Tuesday's primary voting was the first step to a new-look Lakewood political arena.

About 2,000 early voting ballots have been requested across the county and nearly 80 percent of those ballots were returned prior to Tuesday, the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections said of Tuesday's primaries.

Only six cities in Cuyahoga County took part in Tuesday's primary elections. Many of those cities, including Lakewood, were not holding citywide elections, but ward-specific contests.
