LAKEWOOD, OH — A part-time wrestling coach at St. Edward High School has been indicted on 20 charges, including rape, attempted rape and sexual battery, prosecutors said. Authorities alleged that Daniel Gonsor, 30, sexually assaulted two teenagers between June 2015 and July 2019.

“Gonsor violated his position of authority and trust and he will be held accountable,” said Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley.

O'Malley's office said the teenagers assaulted by Gonsor were members of the wrestling team.

The accusations against Gonsor first came to light in December. High school leaders said Gonsor was suspended at that time.

The investigation into Gonsor started after families contact St. Edward officials. The high school then contacted Lakewood police and sent a letter to families, according to Fox 8.
