Victim of Shell Gas Station Shooting in Lakewood Survives Head Wound, Can Be Heard on 911 Call: Listen
Christopher Bates was the victim of a drive-by shooting on Sept. 30. He was shot in the head and can be heard on a frantic 911 call.

LAKEWOOD, OH - Christopher Bates, 27, was the victim of a drive-by shooting on Sept. 30 and is currently in Metro General Hospital in critical condition.
Bates was at Shell Gas Station, 1538 W.117th St., when a car driving by on Franklin Blvd. opened fire. Four men have been arrested in connection with the shooting: Evan Carter, 18, Daveon Denson, 19, and Johnny Miller, 19, all residents of Lakewood; as well as Orrion Robinson, a Cleveland resident who is also 18.
Captain Gary Sprague of Lakewood Police says Bates has been in and out of consciousness since the shooting, but in his lucid moments he was able to provide a description of the incident to police. Bates can also be heard on the frantic 911 call that brought officers and EMS to the scene.

Lakewood police investigated the incident over the weekend, when they identified four suspects and issued warrants for their arrest. All four men have been charged with attempted murder and investigation into why they shot Bates continues.
