• CCESC secures grant for Salem kindergarten camp (reviewonline.com) — From its Lisbon headquarters, the Columbiana County ESC has landed a $111,000 state grant to run Salem’s four-week Kindergarten Boot Camp this summer, covering staffing and supplies. • East Liverpool man pleads guilty to 2025 shooting death (morningjournalnews.com) — A Columbiana County judge in Lisbon accepted a guilty plea from East Liverpool resident Daniel C. Whitley for the 2025 shooting death of James E. Powell, avoiding a jury trial. Whitley now faces a potential life sentence, with prosecutors recommending parole eligibility only after at least 18 years, and he will be designated a violent offender requiring post-release registration.
