• Osvaldo Figueroa, Mother Cabrini Food Pantry's 'meat man,' still volunteering at 96 (chroniclet.com) — A 96-year-old Lorain resident, Osvaldo “Papi” Figueroa, is still faithfully loading meat boxes at Mother Cabrini Food Pantry, which serves about 1,300 families each month. Entirely volunteer-run, the Lorain pantry operates three Saturdays monthly and has never closed in 20 years, welcoming anyone who needs food or wants to help.
   

• Milan Post Investigating Fatal Ohio Turnpike Crash in Lorain County (ashlandcountypictures.com) — A Lorain woman was killed and three Lorain children injured in a rollover crash Friday on the Ohio Turnpike in Elyria Township, Lorain County. State troopers say the SUV went off the road, hit a guardrail and overturned, closing the Turnpike for about three hours while emergency crews responded and transported the children to the hospital.
