• Michael Scipione takes ceremonial oath as Lyndhurst's new police chief (cleveland.com) — Lyndhurst has a new police chief, as longtime local officer Michael Scipione was ceremonially sworn in during Monday’s City Council meeting. He’s pledging a stronger community focus, shifting some Lyndhurst Police Foundation activities into the department while the nonprofit emphasizes scholarships and youth programs. City leaders also honored retiring Chief Patrick Rhode for his years of service.
   

• Troubled man in bath robe yells at gas station customers, breaks own home's windows: Lyndhurst police blotter (cleveland.com) — Lyndhurst police responded to a string of recent incidents, including a troubled resident causing disturbances at a BP station and at his home, several thefts at Legacy Village and other retailers, and two domestic violence arrests. Officers also located a missing Willoughby Hills teen on Mayfield Road and uncovered an outstanding warrant during a criminal damaging call.
   

• Police fire pepper spray rounds after fights break out among crowd of youths at Bexley Park in South Euclid (wkyc.com) — Lyndhurst police were among several departments called to help South Euclid officers break up fights involving youths near Bexley Park on Sunday evening, where pepper spray rounds were fired at the ground to disperse crowds. No injuries or charges have been reported so far, but South Euclid police say they’re still investigating and warn that large, social-media-driven teen gatherings are becoming more common across Northeast Ohio.
