National Awards & Student Excellence (osu.edu) ā Ohio State Mansfield and North Central State College just earned major national honors for boosting student success and economic opportunity, and local leaders gathered on the Mansfield campus June 8 to celebrate. The awards spotlight how these two institutions expand access to higher education, strengthen the workforce, and support families across Mansfield and North Central Ohio. Their partnership is being recognized as a key driver of the regionās future.

2. Mansfield prisons to host Walk MS events (mansfieldnewsjournal.com) ā Mansfield Correctional Institution will host a Walk MS event at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 13, followed by a 1 p.m. walk at Richland Correctional Institution. Retired warden Tony Brigano will walk a mile at each stop to raise money for multiple sclerosis research, part of a 19-prison Ohio tour aiming to push his long-running āTeam Michelleā effort past $300,000.

3. Sleeping With Sirens Announce 'An Ending In Itself' Fall North America (knotfest.com) ā Sleeping With Sirens have announced a big North American tour that includes a July 18 stop at the Inkcarceration Festival in Mansfield, giving local rock fans a chance to see them live without leaving town. The band is supporting its new album with festival sets and a fall headlining run, with tickets and VIP options going on sale this week.

4. Green space at former Westinghouse site hosts party to celebrate (mansfieldnewsjournal.com) ā Residents with deep ties to Mansfieldās old Westinghouse plant gathered June 13 on the nowāgrassy former factory site to reminisce and hear whatās next. County leaders and the land bank used the party to highlight cleanup progress, looming EPA clearance, and hopes that the longādormant property can soon be redeveloped in a way that truly serves the community that once worked there.
