Staff say she's affectionate with women, good with cats and female dogs, and already knows basic commands, though she can be wary of men. Richland County farm family earns Ohio conservation honor (centredaily.com) — A Richland County farm family, Neil and Pamela McKown of Watershed Ranch, has been named one of Ohio's top conservation farm families. Their 500-acre operation near Mansfield uses no‑till farming, wildlife habitat improvements, and forest restoration while also hosting schoolchildren to learn about agriculture and conservation. The honor highlights local leadership in protecting soil, water, and woodlands.
3. Map: Top Columbus-area haunted houses and trails for 2026 (nbc4i.com) — Mansfield thrill‑seekers can brave the Blood Prison haunted house at the Ohio State Reformatory on weekends through Nov. 1, with gates opening at 6:45 p.m. The roundup also spotlights other haunted houses and trails across central Ohio, from Columbus to Marysville and beyond. 4. Lenael Troy Smith sentenced to 40 years for vicious rape, kidnapping (kentucky.com) — A Mansfield man has been sentenced in Richland County Common Pleas Court to 40 years in prison for a brutal 2025 rape and kidnapping at his Superior Street home. Jurors convicted him on multiple counts after a four-day trial, and a forensic nurse at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital described the victim's injuries as the worst she'd seen. The victim and her family told the court they still live in fear but hope the sentence allows healing to begin.
