• Former Brooklyn Police officer pleads no contest to misdemeanor assault charge (news5cleveland.com) — A Maple Heights man is at the center of a civil rights lawsuit alleging Brooklyn police failed to properly investigate and discipline former Sgt. Paul Stein after an alleged hit-and-run and confrontation. Stein has now pleaded no contest to a separate misdemeanor assault charge in Parma Municipal Court tied to punching a handcuffed woman, and he faces possible jail time and fines at a future sentencing.
