Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. The City of Marietta is expected to receive $400,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Entitlement funds this year. Marietta is designated an entitlement city, meaning it receives an annual grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The grant is to be used for the Marietta CDGB Program, which aims to improve housing conditions for low-income and moderate-income residents. (WTAP)
  2. In nearby Parkersburg, police plan to hold a search for missing woman Gretchen Fleming on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Parkersburg Police Department is currently seeking "able-bodied volunteers" to help with the search, which will begin no later than 9:30 a.m. at the parking lot near the flood wall at Second and Avery Streets. Fleming was last seen the morning of Dec. 4, 2022, at the My Way Lounge & Restaurant in Parkersburg. (WTAP)
  3. The Riviera at the Valley Gem is hosting 80s Night on Saturday.
