Here are the top three stories in Marietta today:

  1. Numerous community holiday light decorations in and around the Marietta area have given residents a way to share the Christmas spirit. Noticeable highlights include the Armory in Marietta and Cisler Terrace Park. (Marietta Times)
  2. Gov. Mike DeWine announced $9.1 million in funding will go to 13 state law enforcement agencies to help prevent and investigate violent crime in their communities. The Marietta College Police Department is one of the departments slotted to receive funds and is planned to receive nearly $200,000. (Highland County Press)
  3. Several warming stations are set to open around the Mid-Ohio valley in preparation for the incoming cold spells. Residents in need of a place to warm up include the Marietta Armory and the Life & Purpose Community Resource Center in Marietta. Belpre Bingo Hall will also open its doors if needed. (WTAP)
