MARIETTA, OH — Many look to the rolling green hills of the Marietta Country Club (when it isn’t underwater) and wish they could be there. Well, they’re running a promotion where you can get a taste of the good life for a reasonable fee. They’re offering a ‘Discover Marietta Country Club’ promotion where for $125 you can give the club a test drive.

Matthew Carey Marietta Country Club Manager says this is just for a limited time. “It’s valid from March first to June 30. At $125 you get all access to the club, 5 rounds of golf, cart not included.” Also access to the pool after they open it on Labor Day.

Carey says they’re running another promotion called their two for $2,000. “It’s two single associate memberships.” This is good for golf and the clubhouse, but sadly no pool for this one. “That’s good for one year, so starting the day you sign up you get 365 days.” In the second-year, the price jumps up to $1,500.

Not too long ago, the country club’s golf course looked a lot more like a lake. Carey said this happens. “One year the golf course flooded 18-times.” But Casey wants to assure potential future country club members that the flooding situation is being handled. “Our board of directors is on the floodplain committee with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Washington County, and the City of Marietta.” He says all three of those parties are jointly working on taking care of the flooding issue once and for all.

Carey says the club is growing, and that there are a lot of young members. He says new members are treated like family. “It really is a relaxing, welcoming feeling we offer at the country club out here.”
