- A group of local high school students spread holiday cheer at the O'Neill Center on Thursday with beautiful carols. Members of the Marietta High School choir sang Christmas songs for members of the Adult Day Center. According to the Director of Choirs for Marietta High School, Scott Rieder, the group enjoyed the chance to bring some Christmas cheer to those within the community. Both the O'Neill Center and the choir say they hope they can do this again in the future. (WTAP)
- According to the head of the Red Cross Chapter in Marietta, the American Red Cross blood supply is at historically low levels and it continues to decline. Right now, the American Red Cross blood supply is at historically low levels. Historically low blood supply levels not seen in more than a decade persist for the American Red Cross, which supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood, according to a press release from the American Red Cross. (Marietta Times)
- The Parkersburg girls basketball team brushed up on its studies in Ball Movement 101 and kept the Marietta defenders at bay in a 64-47 win during Wednesday's River City High School Classic on the campus of Marietta College. Led by Brilynn Florence's 16 points, four Big Reds scored in double figures and increased the team's modest winning streak to two while improving to 3-3 overall. (Marietta Times)
