• The Ohio Challenge Hot Air Balloon Festival (ohparent.com) — Middletown’s sky will fill with more than 20 hot air balloons when The Ohio Challenge returns to Smith Park July 17–19, with evening launches, balloon glows, skydivers, and an expanded 350‑drone and fireworks finale. Families can expect a kids zone, carnival rides, tethered balloon and airplane rides, plus a Saturday car show, with walk‑in admission at $10 for ages 13 and up and parking priced per carload.
