• U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force (usmarshals.gov) — A violent fugitive was fatally shot Thursday morning after U.S. Marshals and Akron officers tried to arrest him at a Brown Street home, leading to an armed confrontation. While the incident occurred in Akron, New Franklin residents should know their police department is part of the regional fugitive task force handling such dangerous cases and that state investigators will review the shooting.
