A record 48 high schools will participate in 2026-27 Playhouse Square Dazzle Awards (freshwatercleveland.com) — North Ridgeville High School theater students will be part of a record 48 schools participating in Playhouse Square’s 2026–27 Dazzle Awards, showcasing top musical theater talent from across Northeast Ohio. Throughout the school year, students can tap into workshops, classes, and apprenticeships, culminating in a major awards ceremony in May 2027 where local performers could advance to the national Jimmy Awards.
   

4. Monika A. Kirkwood (chroniclet.com) — North Ridgeville residents are mourning the passing of 79-year-old Monika A. Kirkwood, who made the city her home after emigrating from Germany in 1966. Remembered as a stylish, fun-loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed music, games, and camping, she will be honored at a private family service, with loved ones sharing that her memory will remain deeply cherished.
   

5. Lorain County sees lowest price for diesel gas at $5.67 in week ending Sept. 19 (loraintimes.com) — North Ridgeville drivers are seeing some of Lorain County’s higher diesel prices, with recent reports showing local stations among those clustered near the top of the county range. The countywide diesel average hit $6.42 per gallon for the week ending Sept. 19, slightly above the Ohio average, as global tensions and refinery issues continue to push fuel costs higher.
