Seco Machine: 30 Years of Leadership in Comprehensive Contract Manufacturing

Industry leader in contract machining and molded urethane components is celebrating milestone, expanding production capabilities

Seco Machine, a national industry leader in contract machining and manufacturer of molded urethane components, is celebrating 30 years in business this year, as the company continues to diversify its product line and expand its production capabilities.

Founded in 1985 by Richard Seccombe, Seco quickly gained a reputation for quality machined products, superior customer service, and a commitment to filling orders accurately and quickly.

Over the years the company has grown to employ more than 85 people and now occupies a 86,000-square-foot facility in North Canton. Brothers Steve and Tom Seccombe have managed the business since their father’s retirement in 2002 and are planning a major expansion.

Seco was built on its machining capabilities, including turning, milling and grinding. In recent years the company launched a urethane division, through which it provides quality molded urethane parts to industrial and commercial industries.

“Urethane parts provide durability and a level of performance that is needed in a number of manufacturing and industrial applications,” said Tom Seccombe, who serves as Seco’s general manager. “It was a natural fit with our core business and has led to growth and additional opportunities for the company.”

In 2010 Seco became a subsidiary of the A. Stucki Company, an international leader in the manufacture and supply of railroad components located in suburban Pittsburgh.

“Our relationship with Stucki goes back many years,” said Seccombe. “The merger has greatly benefited their manufacturing capabilities, while also providing us with the opportunity to pursue new markets and introduce new product lines.”

Seccombe anticipates continued growth as the company looks to the future with confidence and optimism.

“Manufacturing is strong, and we’re positioned to provide products that are in demand in the industries we serve,” he said. “We’re excited about the prospects for continued growth in the future.”
