• Ohio Republicans on clock to replace state rep who ends reelection bid (portclintonnewsherald.com) — Residents of Oak Harbor and the rest of Ohio’s 89th House District will see a new Republican name on the November ballot after Rep. D.J. Swearingen ended his reelection bid. Party leaders from Erie, Ottawa, and Huron counties have until Aug. 10 to choose a replacement, with local officials like Ottawa County auditor Jennifer Widmer reportedly under consideration.
