• Oregon Economic Development Foundation may owe thousands in back rent to city (toledoblade.com subscription) — City officials in Oregon are reviewing whether the Oregon Economic Development Foundation owes more than $48,000 in back rent for office space at the Oregon Senior Center on Navarre Avenue. With no written record explaining why lease payments stopped in 2018, the city is renegotiating its contract and may fold any back rent into a new agreement while also reconsidering how much annual funding the foundation receives.
   

• State affidavit details allegations of illegal dumping behind Rocky Ridge searches (toledoblade.com subscription) — State investigators say Rocky Ridge Development allegedly buried spent lime and other solid waste at a Graytown quarry, including material hauled from Oregon’s water treatment plant, despite a court order halting operations there. The affidavit describes trucks tracked from Oregon’s plant to the quarry and concerns that improperly handled lime sludge could contaminate groundwater, while local mayors and the company’s attorney have so far declined comment.
