• Husted visits Owens Community College to discuss workforce development (sent-trib.com) — Owens Community College in Perrysburg recently hosted Sen. Jon Husted and the acting U.S. labor secretary for a roundtable on expanding Workforce Pell Grants. Their discussion highlighted how short-term training programs in Perrysburg and across Northwest Ohio could soon qualify for federal aid, helping residents quickly gain skills for better-paying jobs and understand alternatives to traditional four-year degrees. 
• Sheriff speaks on safety concerns following fatal motorcycle crash in Wood County (wtol.com) — A 59-year-old Perrysburg man was killed when his motorcycle left River Road in Middleton Township and struck a post and boulder, according to the Wood County Sheriff. Investigators are reconstructing the crash and awaiting toxicology results, while the sheriff urges all drivers, riders, and cyclists on River Road’s winding, hilly stretches to stay focused and cautious.
