• Detectives execute narcotics search warrant (tippgazette.com) — Detectives from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office and Piqua Police seized marijuana, THC products, psychedelic mushrooms, a pistol, and over $85,000 during a July 31 narcotics search warrant on South Street in Piqua. A 23‑year‑old Piqua resident was arrested on an initial trafficking charge, with additional charges expected after review by the county prosecutor.
   

• Piqua FD to celebrate 150 years with memorial rededication Aug. 21 (miamivalleytoday.com) — Piqua residents are invited to honor 150 years of the Piqua Fire Department with a flagpole and Fallen Firefighter Memorial rededication at 8 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 21, at 229 W. Water St. An open house will follow, highlighting the department’s history, restored memorial, and the firefighters and equipment protecting the community today.
