Hot Water Tanks Targeted In Shaker Heights Burglaries
Two homes were broken into on Friday and an unidentified man stole hot water tanks from each house.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Hot water tanks were stolen out of two Shaker Heights homes on Friday, according to police records. The thefts took place on Chadbourne Road and Van Aken Boulevard and were reported within three hours of each other.
Police said they believe the suspect is a man. However, the suspect has not yet been identified.
The first reported incident took place at about 7:15 a.m. The unidentified man got into a house in the 3000 block of Chadbourne and stole the hot water tank.

The second incident took place in the 3000 block of Van Aken Boulevard and was reported at about 10:15 a.m. Police say the house on Van Aken was unlocked when the suspect got inside.
Chadbourne and Van Aken are very near each other. Patch has created the map below to illustrate the proximity. The markers are dropped at the 3000 point of both streets.

There have been several burglaries into homes throughout Shaker Heights since the end of 2017. By Jan. 29, 2018, at least five homes had been broken into. With the two hot water tank thefts, that number has increased to seven.
