Burglar Slashes Window Screen At Solon Apartment

Police said the window screen had also been partially removed during an attempted break-in.

SOLON, OH — Two days before Independence Day, someone attempted to break into a Solon woman's apartment building. Police said her window screen was cut and partially removed from its frame.

The incident is being investigated as an aggravated burglary. The resident lives in an Aurora Road apartment complex.

The resident said she and her boyfriend were asleep when someone attempted to get into their apartment through a back window. It was about 1:30 a.m. The resident opened her blinds to investigate and the burglar ran off, police said.

Police investigated and found the cut screen. Officers say there are no suspects or evidence at this time.

Near the end of June, there were three burglaries in Solon. Two of the targeted homes were on Liberty Road and the third was on SOM Center Road. In one case, the suspect smashed a back window out and then climbed into the house.
