SOLON, OH — Towards the end of July, two cars were stolen from Solon residents. There were also a rash of thefts from unlocked cars throughout the city. On Aug. 20, police managed to catch two juveniles who were attempting to commit similar crimes, stealing bicycles and prowling through unlocked vehicles.

Police received a report at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 20 that there were juveniles in the area of Arbordale Avenue and Linden Drive that were stealing bikes. The responding officer saw two young men in hoodies pulling on the door handles of cars at an Arbordale Avenue residence.

When the two juveniles saw the cops, they ran off on foot. Police were unable to locate them. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Solon newsletter. As news breaks and the story develops, you will be the first to receive updates from Patch.)
