Solon Student, Football Player Signs Letter Of Intent

SOLON, OH — The Solon Comets have sent another player to college football. This week, Dominic McGhee, a three-year letter earner at cornerback, signed his NCAA Letter of Intent to attend Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania.

McGhee was on Solon's varsity football team for three years. He played wide receiver and cornerback for the Comets and was also an honor roll student. He will only play corner at Mercyhurst.

McGhee had 17 tackles and one interception during the 2019 season. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, and 180 pounds, according to Mercyhurst's website. The Solon Schools issued a congratulations to McGhee on Wednesday.

The Comets went 8-2 in the regular season this year. The team allowed 130 yards passing per game, according to information from the football team.

This is the third of four National Letter of Intent events. Solon students have already signed up to play sports at Cornell University, University of Michigan, Indiana State University and other prestigious colleges around the nation.
